The torso design is nearly identical to the alien minifigs GS001 and GS008. The final minifigure reminds me very much of Space Police III, as the Blacktron Mutant would fit seamlessly into its gallery of villains! Furthermore, the alien includes a pair of folded wings on its back, re-using a piece created for the Ladybird Girl Collectable Minifigure.

This minifigure is excellent, although I think the designers could have added a reference to the Insectoids range, or brought the Beetlezoid visually nearer to the aliens featured in the Galaxy Squad sets. Nevertheless, this is a fun alien design and its accessory appears suitably bizarre, representing an extraterrestrial plant. Also, I like the 1x2 plate with printed hazard stripes on the backpack, as well as the printing on the sides of the legs. The claw looks excellent as well, including a stud in the middle to secure the supplied cargo box, which features a tile decorated in exactly the style of M-Tron.

This minifigure recreates the colours and general design of the original astronauts, albeit with dual-moulded legs, slightly greater detail on the torso and a more complex helmet.

Well not a 'great' execution of a good idea (IMO), but great for me as I do not feel any regret about skipping another what I see as a lackluster series. If LEGO wanted my money, they would have been all classic era type Space 'guys' with solid colors, or even futuron based. They've been showing up at just about every major chain that carries them locally, so I bought what should be an untouched case on the 16th. Last week, I found a 30/36 case and bought the whole thing before finding another store that had pegged what looked like two full cases.

These have already been available in Ohio at retail and I have been fortunate enough to snag those that were left behind. The QR code on the box bottom is 100% accurate using the Brick Search camera scanner. It would be nice if that were offered here through Brickset or the app.
Rolling out as a beta, the new LEGO Minifigure Factory online experience does have some limitations as of now. Aside from just minor tweaks to the customization process which are likely to go live over time with the official launch, the LEGO Group is also limiting it to just a single minifigure per household right now. There’s also the fact that there isn’t all too much variety from the hair colors and styles, or face prints to pick from.
I think this strikes an effective balance between capturing the style of the classic figure and matching the level of detail across modern minifigures, especially with the astronaut's bulky accessory. There's not a single figure in this series that I'm interested in. Most of them look totally random and uninspired to me, and the themes referenced were at the tail end of my time playing with LEGO space, so don't push the nostalgia buttons for me. Happy for those who find something to like from this selection. In addition, the explorer's helmet is exceptionally detailed and reflects the style of the helmets from 1993, complete with an antenna on the left side. An alternative hair piece is included too, along with a brick-built chainsaw and an Ice Planet penguin!

Moreover, the battery symbol on the back looks perfect and the arms are nicely decorated too, with temperature and heartbeat monitors found on each wrist. The arms' trans-light blue colour certainly conveys the android's presumably futuristic origins and I like the calm facial expression as well, befitting a nurse. Unfortunately, the retro blaster from the original Space Hero does not return. Presumably, the mould is no longer in use, as the piece was actually manufactured in pearl gold for Killer Moth, so would not even have needed a new colour. However, the simpler blaster is a fine alternative and I love the robot dog, which features pink eyes and miniscule bolts around its mouth. The alien's friendly smile is charming and the character obviously appreciates Earth, based on his T-shirt.

Orion is normally depicted wielding a club, so the minifigure is armed accordingly. I am a little surprised LEGO chose to create a new piece for this weapon, as a similar one has existed for many years already, although this club lacks spikes. Regardless, it looks good, although I think the trans-purple shield is even better, emblazoned with the hunter's eponymous constellation. The silver speckles definitely create the desired impression of stars and this trans-purple hair element looks nice, making only its second appearance after the Sprinter.
LEGO® DUPLO® sets have larger pieces which are specially designed for children under 3. As a kid, I had cobbled together a version of “me” using parts from different sets, but it never looked exactly right (though I did have two lightsabers and a hoverboard, which is definitely just like the real me). With Minifigure Factory, I can make a more accurate Lego version of myself — and deck it out with robot decals.
A to see if the QR code thing works like it did for the last CMF wave. Joining this robotic penguin and the Nurse Android is the Robot Butler, whose torso bears a resemblance to Tee Vee from Alpha Team, based on the chest-mounted screen. Whether this was intentional or not, the whole design appears delightfully retro, perhaps complementing the Retro Space Heroine and her previous male counterpart.
And if you’re looking to make a full-on action figure of yourself, Hasbro recently announced a way to let you do just that. If you’ve used Lego’s online Build A Minifigure tool that’s available in select countries, the Minifigure Factory looks to be pretty similar. Build A Minifigure, however, doesn’t offer the same level of torso customization that you can get with Minifigure Factory.
The company also notes that the online site may also go down from time to time as it adjusts the experience. As a few people have already said, a new classic spaceman colour would have been great. The torso and legs are covered with a pattern of stars, similar to that on the aforementioned minifigure bases. Additionally, the Earth and the Moon are shown on the reverse, providing a splash of colour.
